Centre for Thoracic and Cardiovascular Care (CTCC)
The MIOT - CTCC is a tertiary referral centre for the treatment complex heart diseases, not only nationally but also in the South - East Asia subcontinent.


Mission
The primary mission of MIOT - CTCC is to deliver high quality cardiovascular care at an affordable cost with humane care.


To achieve this mission, the CTCC has a team of highly qualified medical personnel with a varied and vast experience in the treatment of cardiac disorders. A patient centric approach by a team of doctors ensures optimal decision making with dedicated care and treatment to the individual patient. State-of-art diagnostic equipment and treatment modalities are available in our centre, which match international standards. Experience and variety of procedures

The centre has performed more than 15,000 cardiac surgical procedures with outstanding results.

1. Off-pump treating heart CABG’s

The MIOT- CTCC does almost all CABG on the beating heart with a vast experience of more than 10,000 beating heart surgeries, it also has a 99.5 % success rate treating coronary artery disease even with patients who have a low pumping function.


2. Mitral valve repairs

More than 400 mitral valve repairs have been performed in the centre with a high success rates, one of the largest series of patients in the country.

 

3. Aortic aneurysm operation

The MOT - CTCC has performed more than 500 aneurysm surgeries with a success rate of 97 to 98 % which matches results among the best across the world.

4. Arterial grafting for bypass surgeries

The use of both internal mammary arteries for suitable patients undergoing CABG, has been in practice in the centre for the past twenty years, which has shown to have excellent long term results.


5. Endovascular stenting and hybrid procedures for aortic aneurysms

The MIOT - CTCC has an experience of more than 150 cases of endovascular stenting of aneurysms. A combined team of cardiac surgeons, Radiologists and Cardiologists work together to produce excellent outcomes.

6. MICS minimally invasive cardiac surgeries
This relatively newer area of cardiac surgery is also an area where MIOT - CTCC excels in. Through small keyhole incisions, valve replacements, valve repairs, closure of congenital defects and CABG’s have been performed with gratifying results, where patients go home with scars one can barely see. Equipped with the latest instrumentation, MIOT is one of the few centres in India performing MICS on a regular basis.

Having a vast and varied experience in the treatment of cardiovascular disorders, the MIOT- CTCC regularly conducts workshops, seminars and conferences in association with international surgeons. These workshops are attended by many cardiac surgeons from the subcontinent.


Success rates
MIOT - CTCC is known for its outstanding results it produces even in cases of complex heart disease. The overall success rate of primary isolated coronary artery bypass grafting is 99.5 % which surpasses benchmarks set by the society of Thoracic surgeons (USA). Similarly, the results of complex cardiac disease, aortic aneurysm, re-do cardiac surgeries are in the 97-98 % range.
