Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery
As the name suggests, this specialty deals with Jaws, Mouth,
Face, Teeth & its surrounding structures. The main spectrum
of activities of the department is the management of facial
injuries, head and neck cancers, salivary gland diseases,
facial disproportion, facial pain, Temporomandibular joint (TMJ)
disorders.
The Department
provides care and support to people with birth deformities
or trauma to the face. When the face is affected, a person’s
image is also affected. Therefore we bring relief to
patients not only physically, but also repair their self
confidence.
MIOT Hospitals is
one of the few hospitals in India to have invested in this
area of specialization. Advances in biomaterials, precision
instrumentation and new developments in aesthetic surgeries
have expanded the scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery in
recent years. MIOT is right at the forefront with full-time
skilled doctors and well trained support staff-who are
up-to-date with the latest advances in the field.
Being a major
trauma centre – MIOT is well equipped with modern
instrumentation like the SYNTHES (Switzerland) implant
system and AESCULAP bone cutting instruments. We also call
on the support of specialities like Neurosurgery,
Orthopaedic surgery and Plastic surgery.
